Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital locates at Sukhumvit 49 in the heart of Japanese community. 45% of our patients are foreigners, mainly are Japanese, Westeners, Chinese and other Asian nationals.
Dr. Nithiwat Gijsriurai, the Hospital Director, brings the vision of the CEO to implement the 3-pronged strategy in 2021. The focuses will be on Regional Japanese Hospital, Precision Medicine and Smart Hospital.
Japanese Hospital by Samitivej opened in 2019 to serve the large Japanese community in Thailand. Our devotion is reflected in our partnership with Sano Hospital in Japan, through which we offer the latest NBI and AI colonoscopy techniques to detect and diagnose colon cancer, doubling accuracy and treatment effectiveness. This collaboration will raise our standard of treatment and build confidence in the Japanese community, enabling Samitivej to provide care services as a regional Japanese hospital.
Along with investing in technology, Samitivej focuses on disease prevention through Precision Medicine in several fields: Obstetrics and Gynecology to prevent passing genetic diseases to children; oncology for treatments only targeting cancerous cells; and general genetic counseling.
Our “Smart Hospital’ concept has become more concrete. Samitivej Hospital is one of a private hospital to launch a virtual hospital. “Samitivej Virtual Hospital” has proven very beneficial during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing patients to have access to healthcare from anywhere. We launched a telepharmacy where patients can receive medicine information, online consultation for patients with chronic disease, and medicine delivery.
